Beatriz Esmeralda Maldonado

Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, Beatriz attended Scripps College in Claremont, CA. She earned a Dual Major in American Studies and Hispanic Studies, with an emphasis in Literature. As a first-generation student, Beatriz has worked collaboratively with college access and success programs. Her motivation derives from the journeys and successes of underrepresented communities. 

She is currently a PhD Candidate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
