Professor Lisa Lucero gave an interview to the Daily Illini about teaching, archaeology, and her passion for finding solutions to contemporary problems by knowing the past. In a characteristic example of what engaged anthropology can be, Professor Lucero described her pathway to understanding the world in diachronic ways, but also her devotion and enthusiasm for teaching students from diverse academic paths.

Her latest course, Climate Change and Civilization, she mentions, has been attended by 39 students from 23 different majors! This demonstrates anthropology's mission and relevance for students across campus, and how they can utilize their archaeological perspective in their future careers and social impact.
