Anthropology doctoral student Omar Agustin Hernandez spent the summer working with community partner Strides Shelter. Strides operates as a low-barrier emergency shelter and resource center for adults experiencing homelessness. The program strives to reach a population of community members who are often seen but overlooked.

Omar's partnership with Strides Shelter was made possible through Summer Bridge program sponsored by the Humanities Without Walls Consortium. In this blog spotlight, he reflects on his experience.
