Biography
I am a PhD student in biological anthropology at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (UIUC). Prior to UIUC, I received a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine from Makerere University in Uganda and the Masters of Science in International Animal Health from the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. My research focusses on understanding the ecology of zoonotic diseases of humans and non-human primates such as chimpanzees through host microbial surveillance and metagenomics.
