Biography
I am pursuing a PhD in Biological Anthropology at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign (UIUC). Prior to UIUC, I received a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine (BVetMed) from Makerere University in Uganda and a Masters of Science in International Animal Health (MSc-IAH) from the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. My research focuses on deciphering the ecology of infectious zoonotic disease emergence in humans and nonhuman primates through host microbial surveillance, metagenomics and the associated ecoimmunology.
Research Interests
Comparative host microbial diversity and ontogeny of ecoimmunology
Ecology and evolution of infectious zoonotic diseases and transmission dynamics
Veterinary anthropology and forensics
Behavioral endocrinology and evolutionary thanatology
