Biography

Prince Sedem Semanshia is a doctoral student in Biological Anthropology whose research focuses on biocultural approaches to stress, health, and human variation in African and African-descended populations. His work examines how social and environmental exposures, particularly stress, shape biological processes and contribute to health disparities. With a background in genetics and biomedical science, he is interested in integrating genomic, immunological, and epigenetic perspectives to understand how lived experiences become biologically embodied. He aims to contribute to ethical, collaborative, and community-engaged research that informs public health.

Research Interests

  • Biocultural and mixed methods approaches in anthropological health research
  • Role of stress perception and narrative in shaping biological responses to social and environmental exposures
  •  Genomic, immunological, and epigenetic perspectives on health and health disparities
  • Health outcomes and intervention strategies informed by social determinants of health and embodiment
