Professor Christopher C.  Fennell is the recipient of the 2020 Daniel G. Roberts Award for Excellence in Public Historical Archaeology from The Society for Historical Archaeology (SHA).  The award recognizes Dr. Fennell's "commitment to public scholarship in New Philadelphia and his work on behalf of anti-racism scholarship and education in historical archaeology."   

 

Formed in 1967, the Society for Historical Archaeology is the largest scholarly group concerned with the archaeology of the modern world. 

 

The award will be presented at the awards banquet on the Friday night of the 2020 Conference on Historical and Underwater Archaeology (January 10, 2020) in Boston, Massachusetts (https://sha.org/conferences/ ).
