Professor Jane Desmond of Anthropology has been newly appointmented at the Center for Advanced Study as CAS Resident Director of the new Human-Animal Studies @ Illinois Initiative.

Professor Desmond has already established a distinguished record of organizing human-animal studies programs at CAS, including the Knowing Animals initiative (AY2010-11) and the 3 week long summer institute in partnership with the Animal & Society Institute.
